Have you started thinking about decorating your outdoor space for entertaining this summer? Just got back from a trip to California, which has inspired me to start tackling my own outdoor spaces. I saw a few inspirational outdoor rooms I’m going to share with you in the coming weeks.
The first space I saw was designed by Kelly Wearstler for the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. There isn’t a detail overlooked at this boutique hotel. The outdoor spaces are as inviting as the inside spaces. It was the perfect way to celebrate spring after our long winter on the East Coast. Californians truly have the luxury of living their lives outside most of the year.
While I can’t bring the palm trees back with me I could easily add so many details of this cabana to a porch, deck, patio, pool area or garden house. The new outdoor fabrics are amazing and truly stand up to the elements. I love the fact this cabana has drape panels and Roman shades, which create privacy and a sense of an outdoor living room. Let’s take a closer look at all the decorations in this cabana.
This cozy sectional is great for entertaining a large group of people. Also, it’s super comfy and has a TV tucked away in the corner, which makes it nice for those who’ve got to get their sports fix. The lanterns also add a whimsical touch along with the floating mirror. The tall iron horse post are a fun conversation piece and define the entrance to this room.
At night, there is nothing more charming than being surrounded by a ton of candles and good friends. Have I got you thinking about your outdoor space? I would love to see a picture of what you create. Check back in the coming weeks on my Instagram account to see how my outdoor project is coming together. I’ve got A LOT of work ahead of me.
Thank you to the staff at the Viceroy Hotel for letting me take photos of the hotel. The staff at this hotel is amazing. If you’re planning a trip to LA this boutique hotel is a must.
