I always have to step back and look at all of the stuff my child brings home with the start of the school year! Generally, friends visiting my house tell me how organized it looks. Luckily for me, they only see one floor of my house! Sometimes, I laugh and think to myself business in the front, party on the other levels!
This summer the stars aligned in Georgia, and my daughter had the opportunity to attend sea turtle camp with her cousin on St. Simons Island. I was fortunate to spend a week with my cousin, who is one busy momma! She is a full-time doctor who also manages to juggle being a great mom. She is definitely an inspiration to all women! I wanted to share her playroom with you since she created the perfect, functional space for her kids to play.
I love this daybed storage combination she created for lounging by a cozy window to read a book or two. The bookshelves are a great way to showcase some of the kids’ art while the bottom shelves provide storage for all those toys.
She also showcased a large map, which was cost effective and made a big impact on one wall. Then, she grouped some of the kids’ art in another corner where the bottom half of the wall was painted with chalkboard paint.
All of the fabrics and the rug she used in the space are comfy and easy to wash. The bright color storage bins help disguise and organize the toys. The bins are separated into two colors so each child knows where to find their individual toys.
Let me know your thoughts on this great space or any ideas you have when it comes to organizing toys. X, Shannon
